    Before you travel

Check your passport and visa separately

The C5 records travel information. It does not establish your visa eligibility or permitted stay in Jamaica. Those rules depend on nationality, residence, travel purpose and route.

    • Use the passport you will carry when you travel.
    • Check passport validity and any visa requirement with the authority.
    • Check separate rules for transit, children and residents.

Practical details for your next step. Immigration requirements can change; check the authority’s current instructions before submission.

    Visitors and returning residents

Jamaica Customs says arriving passengers must complete the electronic C5 for clearance at its international airports. The official service is free for both visitors and residents.

The C5 is not a visa or an airline booking. Returning to Jamaica and visiting on holiday can involve different immigration circumstances, so select the purpose that accurately describes your trip.

What to have ready for the online C5

    1. Open the official PICA and Jamaica Customs form at enterjamaica.gov.jm. Use an email account you can access for the verification step.
    2. Copy your name and passport details carefully. Prepare your home address separately from the address where you will stay in Jamaica.
    3. Check your flight number, departure port, travel date and planned length of stay. The form also asks about countries visited in the previous six weeks.
    4. Answer the baggage and customs questions for what you are actually carrying. Follow Customs instructions if you are unsure what to declare, rather than selecting “no” by default.
    5. Complete the submission and retain the confirmation with your travel records.

    When to complete it

Jamaica Information Service reports that the form can be completed up to 30 days before arrival and encourages travelers to do it before the journey. Check the current portal instructions when your itinerary is ready.

Airport assistance may be available, but completing the declaration ahead of time avoids relying on arrival-hall connectivity. A downloaded copy of your booking and accommodation address can also help if your phone has no data service.

For help with a question, include the travel date and whether you are visiting or returning home. A private assistance enquiry is not a C5 submission and does not produce an official confirmation.
